About Sam Burchfield:
Sam Burchfield was raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of South Carolina, where he learned to play and learned to write. His youth was steeped in the mossy creeks and deep ravines of those ancient woods, and they imbued him with the gift of song. Now in his thirties, Burchfield raises a small family in the North Georgia mountains and continues to find inspiration in the rivers and ridges of Southern Appalachia. His latest album, “Me and My Religion” was produced with his touring band, The Scoundrels. This 10 track album is almost equal parts Americana, psychedelia, indie folk and Southern rock. “Me and My Religion” is an exploration of mankind’s toil for meaning in a world of vapid consumerism and commercialism - one in which we have become deaf to our own harmony with nature. Despite the weight of these ideas, the album feels like a lighthearted sojourn through the backwoods of our imagination.
Pip The Pansy:
Pip the Pansy is a flute player and indie-electronica artist. A student of the visual arts, Pansy incorporates giant blobs of dancing color and neon flower installations in her live musical performances. She loves to daydream and write about the heavens. Her biggest influences are Jordan Peterson and Grimes. She recently released Neon Garden, a self-produced album that drove Pansy into the land of chaos and back again.
Cicada Rhythm:
Born and raised in Georgia, this talented pair imitates and modernizes folk music to a rejuvenating degree. The sound of Andrea DeMarcus and Dave Kirslis exhibits, skilled and articulate guitar picking honed in the dive bars of Atlanta over rolling Juilliard-trained bass lines. Expect chilling harmonies, unbridled enthusiasm, some wholesome tunes and a sincere performance. Stay tuned to their upcoming album release this Spring!
Colin Agnew:
Madison resident Drummer/Percussionist and Producer, Colin Agnew, was born in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Georgia. His devoted family extends back many generations in the American South with leanings toward practical wisdom and emotional independence. Soon after his mother began teaching him the piano at age 6 he knew he would dedicate his life to music. He studied percussion at the prestigious Savannah Arts Academy and later earned a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz studies at Georgia State University. The vast multicultural epicenter of Atlanta provided him with a home base for nearly 20 years, during which time he continued to evolve and broaden his musical language skills.
